By way of a reprieve from our current reality, I thought I’d share some images from a project I shot this time last year - one which was buzzing with momentum, sweat, adrenaline and a determination to step forward.
This place isn’t just about boxing. It’s about facing fear, failure and success, about getting knocked down and getting back up again and ultimately about keeping on going. Every person here has their own history and their own reasons for being here.
Empire Fighting Chance is a charity working with young people to fight the impact of deprivation on Bristol’s streets. I can only assume this type of charity will be needed now more than ever. After a year of being constantly knocked down, there are lessons in boxing for us all.
